Print Partner’s Updated Commission Structure

Print Partners Updated Commission Structure

We have some important news to share with our referral partners.

As the trusted Managed Print Services (MPS) partner to hundreds of MSPs across the United States and Canada, we take our relationships with referral partners very seriously. We are 100% Channel-driven: our net new opportunities come directly from our MSP community. That’s why we are always looking for ways to serve your needs and ours as effectively as possible.

In an effort to make our partnership more beneficial to all parties involved, we’ve made changes to our current commission structure. These changes are based on feedback we’ve received directly from our partner community.

What Is Changing?

After receiving feedback from our MSP partner base, we’ve created a more lucrative commission structure to reward the folks who are registering the deals.

We are pleased to announce that, effective immediately, we are replacing the $250 intro commission with a $500 reward for closed opportunities, as well as an additional $250 per $25,000 of revenue generated by the deal.

So, under our previous commission structure, a $200,000 closed deal would have netted the person who registered the deal only $250. But under our new structure, that person would receive $500 plus an additional $2,000 in commission ($250 x 8).

The following is a full breakdown of our updated commission structure:

Why Are We Making this Change?

With the introduction of this change, we wanted to kill two birds with one stone:

  1. Focus less on quantity and more on quality
  2. Provide a consistently greater reward to the person who registers a winning opportunity

While we accept deals of almost any size, of course, we’d much rather get one large deal that we can close than 10 smaller deals that we may not win.

For larger opportunities, the deal cycle can be lengthy, and having our MSP partners’ collaboration can sometimes make or break the sale. While it is not required, we want to incentivize our referral partners to actively work with us from start to finish during the sales process.

Earlier this year, we sent out a survey on our commission structure to our entire base of referral partners. Based on the feedback we received, our previous commission structure was off-balance and not clearly aligned with our partners’ needs. Hence, we updated our program by offering a richer reward structure for higher-quality deals.

Our parent company, Green Office Partner, has positioned itself in the MPS market as the go-to resource for medium to large-sized companies with multiple locations across the US and/or Canada. Because of our focus on multi-site clients, we tend to have a much higher success rate with larger clients than clients with one or two office locations with low print spend.

This is why we are aiming to incentivize fewer, larger deals as opposed to a pile of smaller ones. And we’re willing to pay out more for the right clients!

What Commissions Are Staying the Same?

Everything else!

Aside from the intro commission structure, everything else about our current referral program will stay the same.

Closed deals will still result in the MSP earning $1,000 per copier, $100 per desktop printer, 5% on the clients’ monthly service allotment, and additional commissions on future sales for the lifetime of the client relationship.

The MSP’s hardware and service commission for all referred deals will be completely unchanged. These updates will only affect the individuals who make the introductions.

How Will These Changes Affect the Xerox Direct Program?

They won’t.

Our Xerox Direct Program is for smaller deals that result in under $500 of monthly print spend.

This program did not offer any intro commissions under our previous structure, nor will it under our new structure.
